William Warrell England III, 87, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on June 6, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones. Bill was born on April 17, 1934 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He and his brothers Larry and Terry England were raised his mother Virginia England and his Aunt Hazel.
He married JoAnne (Nolle) England on July 23, 1960 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and were wed for 60 years. He was a member of St. Andrew’s the Apostle Catholic Church in Gladstone, Missouri.
He began working at the age of eight as a paper delivery boy and repaired electronics as a teenager. As a U.S. Navy veteran he served as the head radio operator on the USS Saratoga during the Mediterranean Crisis. After discharging from the Navy he began his thirty-three and a half year career with General Electric, where he and his family moved around the country following his work. Upon retirement from General Electric he returned to repairing electronics at S&W TV shop. Throughout his life, he enjoyed and practiced Ham radio operation, teaching, and repair.
Bill is survived by his wife JoAnne England, his children Judy (Jim) Stevens, Jackie (Ray) Ball, Bill (Josephine) England, Russell (Leslie) England, Rachel Darling, and Jennifer (Kevin) England-Shepherd, nineteen grandchildren, and thirty-one great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Jannie England, and his grandchildren LCPL Timothy Bell and Abbie Bell.
A mass will be held at St. Andrew’s the Apostle Catholic Church.
