Norman Michael (Mike) Pence (AKA Ironmike and Iceman) passed quietly in his home June 8, 2021. Mike was a retired ironworker of 30+ years with local 10. He served in the Army during Vietnam. Mike was born to Norm and Barb Pence September 24, 1948. He is survived by his wife Joyce, 3 sons Mike (Danica), Pete (Jenny), and Nick, 6 grandchildren, Roman, Marshall, Emma, Benjamin, Jonathan, and Stephen, and a sister Jude Spalitto.
Mike Pence was truly one of a kind. A true ironman who felt more at home hundreds of feet in the air than on the ground. He was deeply passionate about fitness and nutrition. He was an avid (and excellent bowler), loved to travel and was always up for a game of bubble hockey or most anything else. Mike Pence never met a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He was a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.
One of the few requests Mike made before his passing was to have a park bench placed in his name at English Landing Park in Parkville, Missouri. He wanted a place where his loved ones could sit, relax and remember him. Contributions will be put towards honoring his request.
