Owen Richard Uhrmacher, 22, of Shawnee, Kansas died in the early morning on Thursday, July 15, as a result of a car accident outside of Manhattan, Kansas. Owen was born on October 7, 1998, to David and Christine Uhrmacher. Owen graduated high school from Midland Adventist Academy. He attended Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Religious Education in May of this year. Owen had been working as the Boys Director at Broken Arrow Ranch Camp.

Owen was a true and faithful child of God who loved life and loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching and participating in many different sports including basketball, football, soccer, golf and pickle ball. Owen and his best friend Greg Hansen created an up-and-coming podcast called Room 415. He was a gifted singer who performed in select choirs, he played the trumpet in high school and college, and was teaching himself piano. Owen was looking forward to starting a new job at the end of the month.

Owen was preceded in death by his father David Uhrmacher, and his grandfathers Richard Uhrmacher and Joseph Duran. Owen is survived by his mother Christine Uhrmacher of Shawnee; two brothers, Daniel and his fiancé Ashlee Dyche of Shawnee, and Tony and his wife Lisa of Lenexa. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Joan Duran of Shawnee, and his paternal grandmother Kathy Uhrmacher and Ed Pottratz of Lenexa. Owen adored all of his beautiful nieces: Anniston, Maggie Jo, Baylea, Emma, Alyson and Jaelynn.

Owen will be remembered by so many as a wonderful son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. A memorial service will be held at New Haven Seventh Day Adventist Church, 8714 Antioch Road, Overland Park, Kansas, on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 6:00 pm.
