Obituaries detail

William Reeves Davis

October 30, 1943 - July 18, 2021

Bill lost a yearlong battle with AML leukemia in the compassionate care of KC Hospice House. He fought fiercely but went peacefully with his family at his bedside.

Bill was preceded in death by his dad, Reeves Peyton Davis, at a very young age, his mother, Maude Lucille Davis, his sister, Jeanette Davis King, and his brothers in-law, Jerry King and Jim Ruttenberg. He leaves behind his soulmate and loving wife, Bonnie Shepherd Davis, and his son, Tanner Davis, his daughter-in-law, Lucy McShane Davis, and his grandchildren, Josephine, Alex, and Bobby, and a wonderful extended family of his mother-in-law, sisters and brother-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was loved and will be missed dearly.

Bill was a native Kansas Citian and loved his Chiefs, his Royals, and his Missouri Tigers. He grew up in Adrian, MO and attended MU and received his degree from Central Missouri State as a Lamda Chi.

Anyone who knew him will miss his endless knowledge of trivia, his love of sports, and his great sense of humor.

The family is planning to host a Celebration of his Life in September and suggests memorial donations be to KC Hospice.

Bonnie, we were in Missouri for a family reunion and were very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. As you probably remember, Bill and I grew up together in Adrian along with a number of others who will probably in touch.

Bonnie and Tanner I was so sorry to hear about Bill's death. I can just see him sitting on " his front deck" listening to the Royals games. He always waved and always had a smile!! I will pass on to Chris and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
