Dolcie "Maggie" June Sedler, Age: 88
Oct 17, 1932 - Aug 24, 2021

Dolcie “Maggie” June Sedler, 88, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on August 24, 2021, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family throughout her illness.

Maggie is survived by her children John (Michelle) Sedler, Michael (Sandy) Sedler, Cynthia (Gregory) Baker, and Linda (Rick) Dickerson, her brother Dale McGhee; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Sedler, her parents, Hollie Edward McGhee and Leo Helen (Sivey) McGhee, and her grandson Christopher David Cooper.

Maggie was born in Kanarado, Kansas, on October 17, 1932. She was a homemaker for 23 years and worked for Macy’s/Dillard’s for several years, followed by receptionist/switchboard operator at Bank of America until she retired in 1998

Maggie was dedicated to her family until the day she passed. She was an exceptional cook, always opting for “scratch” recipes. The family especially loved her homemade bread and pies. She also enjoyed crocheting, was an avid reader and really enjoyed following politics; she treasured her time with family and was happy to see her grandchildren grow into wonderful adults and have children of their own. Private services for family and relatives will be on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 10 am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband of more than 60 years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice North, KCHospice.org.
