Paul G. Erickson

Paul G. Erickson passed away peacefully October 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born December 10, 1931 in Greensburg, PA. He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Erickson, Topeka, KS and Randy Erickson, Olathe, KS and his daughters, Carolyn Kintzel, Topeka, KS and Christina Hoffman, Prairie Village, KS and grandchildren: Sarah and Karlie Erickson, Aidan Hoffman, and Parker, Avery and Eleanor Erickson. Paul loved his parents, Eric and Helen Erickson, and his younger sister Reba Jane. Paul graduated from Greensburg HS and spent his summer months  (1948-1954) working in Yellowstone National Park. He graduated (1954)  Indiana State Teachers College, Indiana, PA, with a BS in Education. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War (1955). When the war ended, Paul taught school for 12 years. He had two children, Jeffrey and Carolyn, with his first wife, Janet. Later, Paul married Patricia and adopted her three year old son, Randall. Their daughter Christina was born in 1972. They owned a successful executive recruitment firm in Overland Park, KS for 20 years and retired to enjoy winters in Florida and Arizona. Paul was a huge Chiefs fan, enjoyed gardening, writing poetry and an autobiography. Paul was so proud of his children and grandchildren. They were tops with him and called him “Papa”. Most of all, Paul dearly loved his wife Pat, who walked and talked with him through all their ups and downs. She was his lover and companion and gave him strength through all of their 43-year marriage until Pat died in 2014. Private Memorial Services will be held for Paul.
