Donald Charles Breiby Sr.,  passed away at his Overland Park home on March 20, 2022 at the age of 93.

Don was born on May 5, 1928 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Conrad Ole Breiby and Dorothy A. (Eypper) Breiby.   He grew up in northern New Jersey.  Graduating from Blair Academy, Don went on to attend Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania where he earned a BA degree in Business Administration.  This followed service in the United States Army during World War II from 1946-1948.

In 1950, Don married Patricia Ann Varson.  To this union, 4 children were born:  Bruce Breiby of Chino Hills, California, David Breiby (Jackie) of Salina, Donald Breiby Jr. (Saundra) of Olathe and Suzanne Werth (Duane) of Olathe.   The family moved to the Kansas City area in 1960.  After 35 years of marriage, Pat preceded him in death.

In 1988, Don married Phyllistine Rabourn.  They lived in the Kansas City area for 33 years.  Between them, they proudly shared 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Don loved spending time with family and friends, sailing, riding horses, dancing, music and traveling.  Before retirement, he worked in sales and management, and owned and operated a Baskin Robins ice cream parlor with the help of Phyl. Don was a member of the Lions Club for over 34 years and served in many capacities. He also served as deacon, elder & vice chairman at the Countryside Christian Church, and most recently as a member of the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., March 24, at the Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be prior to the memorial service beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS.
