David Albert Land of Overland Park, KS passed away on April 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by just 15 days by his beloved wife of 56 years, Camille. His brother, Greg Land passed away in 2012.

David is survived by his two sons, Steve (Paula) Land of Seattle, Washington, and Lewis Land of Merriam, KS.

David was born to Albert Waller Land, Jr., and Jeanette Frances Hughes Land in Syosset New York in 1943. After moving to Leawood, KS as a teen, David graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and was a founding member of the ham radio operators’ club. He graduated in 1965 from the University of Kansas with a degree in Electrical Engineering and also attended Johns Hopkins University. David opened the first retail computer store in the Kansas City area in 1977 and went on to found a custom payroll company, LPI Datasmith, which he operated for 35 years. The Lands were lifelong bridge players.
