Marjorie Ilene Thompson, 93, of Kansas City, MO left the trials of this earth,  peacefully,  on April 30, 2022, with her son at her side.   Marjorie was born March 9, 1929 to Howard and Arlene (Lundy) Lane, near Blythedale, MO.  She was preceded in death by her brother Gary, son Shawn, husband Erik, sister Della and brother Roscoe. After high school, Marjorie  moved to Kansas City and  got a job at the American Can Company in NKC.  There she met her future husband Erik.  They married November 1948 in Tuscumbia. In 1953 Marjorie started her family, with the last of her four boys being born in 1961. Marjorie loved her boys and  was active in their lives - being a Cub Scout Den mother.  She loved family and would gather them for holiday dinners and special occasions, including Shawn's fish fries. Marjorie also worked for the NKC school district and Buckner Heating & Cooling.   

She is survived by sons Thomas (Christine), Cleve (Brigitte), Darren, Granddaughters Karin Breen &  Mystica Thompson,  nieces Yvonne Pierson & Mona Phillips, S-I-L Kay Thompson,  as well as extended family and many good friends.

Marjorie was blessed to have very capable and extraordinarily kind and loving caregivers at the end of her life.  We will forever be grateful to that team. 

A memorial service will be held at Liberty Church of Christ, 1401 Glenn Hendren Dr, Liberty, MO 64068, 10 - Noon May 14, 2022.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to your local  Alzheimer's Assoc.
