Franklin Charles Johnson, Jr., 76, of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2022.

Frank was born on August 6, 1945 to Frank and Lyla Johnson in North Kansas City, Missouri. After Frank graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1964. He went on to join the Air Force as a medic and served our country from 1964 to 1968 when he joined the North Kansas City Fire Department as a paramedic and firefighter until retiring in May of 2000 after serving the city of North Kansas City for 32 years.

He loved spending time with family and taking trips. He loved date night with his wife, Linda and spending Thursdays with their dear friend, Ruth Atkinson. He made many trips to Florida as he loved spending time in the sun and with his grandchildren. He also loved working on old cars with his brother Russ and taking trips with his Uncle Dwayne.

In September 1988, Frank met Linda and they married soon after, in March of 1989.

Frank was predeceased by his father, Franklin Charles Johnson, Sr., his mother, Lyla Beth Johnson, and his brother, Russell Johnson. He is survived by his wife Linda Johnson. His sisters, Crystal Gnomes (Willie Gnomes) and Carol Johnson. His brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Judy Beck. His children, Tracy Johnson, Carisa Murphy (Michael Murphy), Crickett Johnson, and Tamra Smith. His grandchildren, Joshua Dick, Jacqueline Lloyd (Donnie Lloyd), Zachery Elder, Giselle Elder, Jacob Dick, and Frank Venable. Also, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Victory Free Will Baptist Church on May 13, 2022. Visitation will be from 1-2pm directly followed by the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, an organization Frank felt strongly about.
