Dawn (Tinsley) Hyatt, Age: 55
Aug 08, 1966 - Jun 03, 2022

Dawn (Tinsley) Hyatt, age 55, passed away from metastatic cancer on June 3, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Jodie and daughter Alyssa, her three cats and a granddog. She is also survived by her brother, Steve and his wife Tammy, as well as many family members and close friends.

Dawn was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Marilyn and Bob Tinsley but was raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a graduate of Oak Park High School (Class of 1984). Dawn’s work experience included American Century, Park University and the Federal Reserve. She was hard working, detail oriented and had a way of keeping you on your toes.

Those who know Dawn understand her nickname “Tenacious D.” She was fiercely determined and fought hard. She laughed a lot. She never took herself too seriously. She was gullible and sassy, funny and fun to be around. There was never a dull moment in a day with Dawn.

To know Dawn was to know that she deeply loved her husband and daughter, her cats, her chapter friends, her church friends, her small group and the many friends she made through the years.

We will miss that smile and her presence in our daily lives. We would love to have you join us and honor her life on Wednesday, June 15th at her church, North Heartland Community Church (4800 NW 88th St., Kansas City, Missouri). Visitation 5 pm, Service 6 pm, Reception to follow (with food and beverages that Dawn requested).

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the HOPE Fund at North Heartland Community Church. Cat shirts are welcome to be worn at the Visitation and Celebration of Life.

Dawn was such an easy person to love! Her zest for life was positively contagious. Her love of her family, human and fuzzy) was always at the forefront of her life. I will miss the lessons that she taught me whenever I was lucky enough to be in her presence. Goodbye sweet girl! Sending my love!

I barely knew Dawn, but she touched my life. We probably crossed paths six times or so and I followed her on social media. She was a inspiring warrior. My condolences to the family. I know she'll be missed.
