Patricia Ann Stockton, Age: 87
Feb 10, 1935 - Jun 05, 2022

Patricia Ann Stockton, 87 of Stilwell, Kansas, devoted wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday June 5 in the place she loved most, at home in her beautiful backyard oasis.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Warren; her children Erik Stockton (Sharon), Dave Stockton (Jan) and Diana Motlong (Blake); her grandchildren Vicki Bartholomew (Brian), Bryan Stockton (Kate), Ashley Erbe, Brad Stockton, Kelly Stockton, Jordan Motlong (Camille) and Taylor Motlong; and her great grandchildren MacKenzie and Noah Loeb and Easton Bartholomew.

Pat met the love of her life on a ski trip while she worked for Honeywell’s space program.  After a whirlwind romance and Warren’s relocation to New Jersey, they began their marriage after a mailed proposal and ring.  She chose her life’s work to be a homemaker and caregiver to her husband, children and community. She volunteered as classroom mother, served in PTA, helped with art projects and early paper routes during cold Minnesota winter mornings, attended band concerts, enjoyed boating and our annual family trips to Door County and Split Rock, made clothes, cross-stitched, loved gardening and swam in the afternoon with the peaceful horse pasture just behind the house.  She was a competitive card player, loved all puzzles and especially the Sunday crossword that she would pass back and forth to Warren until it was complete. She shared the love of the Kansas City Symphony with Warren and they were faithful supporters. She often described Warren as “a good man” and her greatest joy in life was being Dad’s wife and caregiver. She took great pride in her ability to stand by his side, supporting him and helping him care for the home they so loved.

Her last received communication held this verse for us all:

“Praying…that you will be filled with His mighty, glorious strength, so that you can keep going…always full of the joy of the Lord.” Col 1:11

A Celebration of Life Service with a reception immediately following will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 1 at Atonement Lutheran Church, at 9948 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66212. I was sadden to hear of Pat's death. It's been a very long time since our families were together but that doesn't mean you have been absent from my thoughts and heart. God be with you all during this difficult time. I'm sure Bob and Mare greeted her with open arms.

I worked at the Dental office where she and Warren were patients, she was a beautiful woman, always so sweet. I know she will be missed.
