Wanda Jean (Klepac) Peterson

Wanda Jean (Klepac) Peterson, 87, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away June 14, 2022 in Overland Park, Kansas. Wanda was born August 2, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas. She attended St. Joseph Parochial School, Bishop Ward High School (1952) and nursing school at St. Mary's in Leavenworth, Kansas. She completed her residency at Providence/St. Margaret’s Hospital (1955). Throughout her long-time career as a registered nurse, she worked at Providence, St. Margaret’s, St. Joseph’s Hospital and St. Luke’s hospitals.

 

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Eva (Michalski) Klepac, and husband Jerome Peterson.

 

She is survived by her children Bridget (Jim) Weinstein, Kathleen Bono,  Eileen Peterson, Tom (Lori) Peterson, Maggi (John) Pivovar, Aimee (Brian) Adams; grandchildren Robert (Kelsey) Weinstein, Samuel Weinstein and William (Anna)  Weinstein; Kristina (Mattia Cavallini) Bono,  Sarah (Andrew) Nelson and Nicholas (Kate) Bono, Jesse Gilmore and Kyle (Sophia) Gilmore, Hannah (Will) Ericson and Thomas Peterson; Mitchell (Elaina) Pivovar, Blase (Paige) Pivovar, Benjamin Pivovar and Grant Pivovar, Alex Adams and Laurel Adams; great grandchildren Adrian and Lucas Weinstein, Olivia Grace and Nina Louise Cavallini and June Bono; siblings Charles Klepac, Rosanne Boken, David (Sue) Klepac and Ruth Ranck.  

 

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, followed by Mass at 11:00 am, Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 7231 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, Kansas. Services will also be livestreamed at https://stannpv.org/wandapeterson.

 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Strawberry Hill Museum at  https://strawberryhillmuseum.org/donations/ or by mail 720 N. 4th St., Kansas City, KS 66101
