The shooting star that was Talmage Clubbs, age 12, unexpectedly passed away in the company of his loving family on August 7th, 2022. Alongside his grandfather, Rev. Charles Philip Wilson, whom he met for the first time in person that day, he now shines his light on those he loved on earth, including his siblings, Mars and Boaz Clubbs; his parents, Richie and Becky Clubbs; grandparents Talmage and Shirley Clubbs; grandparents Debbie Wilson-Otto and Bill Otto; aunts Katie Wood (Eric) and Carrie Weeda (Cory); uncles Charles Wilson (Elizabeth) and Talmage Clubbs (Christy), and many cousins, family members, and beloved friends.
Talmage (or “T” or “T-man”) was born on October 15th, 2009, and raised in Belton, Missouri. He had recently moved with his family to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. T’s striking blue eyes were the first thing many noticed about him, but it didn’t take long to learn there was much more to love than just those eyes. He was known for his infectious smile, his warmth with others, his laugh that so often had amazing timing, and the joy that radiated from him anywhere he went. His life was full of visiting family and friends, loving on his pets, traveling, swimming, bowling, music, church, and so much more. Talmage spent his school years in the Belton School District and has had many teachers, therapists, paraprofessionals, school staff, and friends who have positively impacted his life, and he theirs. He taught the people around him about unconditional love, unrestrained happiness, and finding joy in the little things, which will not be forgotten. His loss will be felt by many communities.
Like most shooting stars eventually do, T’s light has broken into smaller pieces that now shine in different places. Talmage gifted his organs to at least six people who were saved as a result, allowing him and his beautiful heart (both figuratively and literally) to live on outside of his own body. It doesn’t seem possible that this young man could impact more lives than he had already, but T has proven otherwise. His reach into the lives of others will be never ending.
A Celebration of Talmage will be held on Sunday, August 21st, from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Memorial Station in Belton, MO. (Service is at 1:00 PM and Visitation is at 2:00 PM.)
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation. The ASF supports those living with ASF through family support, clinical support and research. Talmage loved participating in events like the CCK camp with his family where they could participate with many other AS families in camp activities. Your donations will go to support others to enjoy experiences like this. You can donate by going to www.angelman.org or sending a check to:
