Brandon Scott Martin, Kearney, Mo., passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 13, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Nov. 22, 2022 at First Christian Church, Platte City, Mo. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by the service at 3 p.m.
Brandon was born Aug. 19, 1983 in Smithville, Mo. He was a 2001 graduate of Platte County R-III High School and was a lifelong Platte County resident. Brandon is survived by his brother David Martin, Chicago, Ill., his maternal grandmother Carolyn Stubbs, Platte City, Mo. and his paternal grandmother Thelma Martin, Platte City, Mo., and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Brandon was preceded in death by his father, John Martin, his mother Leslie Stubbs-Martin, his maternal grandfather Richard Stubbs and his paternal grandfather Raymond Martin.
Brandon was an avid fisherman and a dedicated sports fanatic. He loved reeling in bass and crappie from local ponds and lakes and rooting for the Missouri Tigers, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. Over the years, Brandon became devoted to his own personal fitness and well-being and in 2020 achieved his lifelong dream of opening his own fitness gym in Kearney, Mo. He helped countless friends and clients achieve their personal fitness goals and lifestyle changes and, in the words of a close work associate and friend: "Brandon built not only a gym but a home for us all."
Brandon was a great son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He left this world too soon, with plenty of dreams to fulfill and love left to give. Both the Martin and Stubbs families are utterly devastated by his passing, but are comforted knowing that Brandon is reunited with his mom and dad and probably on his way to a big workout at the eternal gym above. We will see you on the other side, Brandon....we love you.
A memorial service will be held on Nov. 22, 2022 at First Christian Church, Platte City, Mo. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by the service at 3 p.m.
