Betty Jane Loftis (Long) of Kansas City, MO passed away January 12th, 2023 surrounded by her children.
Betty was born July 29th, 1939. She was one of nine children born to Claude and Agnes Long. She was a friend to all. Betty enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; her family was everything to her.
She loved playing pool, bowling, and crafting (especially scrapbooking) and was even in a women’s league for pool. She loved spending time at the lake fishing and jet skiing with her family. She would cook a big breakfast for her entire family at the lake and was known for her amazing breakfast and fried chicken. We will miss her smile and generous heart.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Thompson and husband Larry Loftis, daughter Mary Wilson, and parents Claude and Agnes Long. She is survived by her children Rhonda (Tony) Crane of Kansas City, MO, Larissa (Kenny) Busch of Trimble, MO, and Larry Loftis Jr. (Jennifer) of Austin, TX. Grandchildren Shannon Thompson, Nicholas Crane, Ashley (Christopher) Mays, Branden Stevenson, Paul Busch, Bret (Kelsey) Stevenson, Haley (James) Koch, Ryan Loftis, and Emily Loftis. Great-grandchildren Liz, Zach, Brynn, Evyn, Rylee, Aria, Luke, and Ford.
There will be a celebration of life on Monday, January 23rd at Hope Church 4800 NW 88th St. Kansas City, MO 64154. The visitation will be at 10:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM followed by lunch.
