Wanda Janet Van Dyke

September 26, 1930 - February 26, 2023

 

Wanda Janet Van Dyke was born September 26, 1930 in Cheyenne County, in the township of Lawnridge, KS (now a ghost town). She was born to John Wesley and Christina (Neidig) VanDyke and lived in Cheyenne County, Kansas until 1940 when her family moved to Decatur, AR. 


Survivors include brother Lonnie and wife Georgia Van Dyke; sister-in-law Beryl Van Dyke; daughter Jan Austin Long and daughter Rhonda and husband Alan Wolfe; Grandchildren Traci Austin, Jared and wife Whitney Austin, Crystal and husband Martin Yarnell, Jennifer King, Dustin Long, Sharon Long, Caleb and wife Andrea Pinter, Hannah Pinter and husband Anish Chakrabarti, Courtney Pinter and husband Nathan Toh; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Wanda was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Austin, and her husband Wiley Sparks, whom she married in 1992; parents John Van Dyke and Christine Van Dyke; brothers Gerald Van Dyke and Gayland Van Dyke; sisters Rose Marie Scrogham and Marlene VanDyke; and sons Carse Buddy Austin and Mark Allen Austin.


Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at First Baptist Church, 213 E Roller Ave in Decatur, AR.
