Carole Anne (Fisk) Thrasher, 82, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 27th, 2023 after a long illness, surrounded by loved ones.  

She was a fighter to the very end.  

Carole was born in Lebanon, Missouri on September 10th, 1940 to parents Doyle, a veterinarian, and Lela Fisk.  

She is survived by her children Liz, Vicki, James, Chris and Eric, as well as grandchildren Tiffany, Isabella, Daniel, Cheyenne, Olivia, Joe, Curtis, Yuovonne, and Shelly, brothers Bill, Joe, and Steve, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Curtis.  

Carole led an extraordinary life in many ways. Starting over in life at 35 years old with 6 children, she worked hard to obtain an education, one or two classes at a time until she had a bachelor’s degree.  Often working two jobs to cover the cost, she always maintained a positive attitude, pursuing her dreams and building relationships along the way.  

She was also a firm believer in service to others, as shown by her career at Johnson County Community Corrections as a volunteer coordinator and her continued involvement in various programs after retirement.  

She was a lifetime friend to many people, an inspiration to many more, and she loved traveling the world with her classmates and taking pictures of the beautiful flowers that she grew at her home.
