Jean Marie Mardis, 90, of Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of Bloomington, passed away peacefully, Friday, May 5, 2023  at Hospice House, Olathe, Kansas after a brave battle with kidney disease.

She was born May 22, 1932, in Valentine, Nebraska, daughter of Edna and Charles Payne.  She was preceded in death by her first husband William B. Mardis, Jr.; sons, Gary Lee Mardis, Bruce Steven Mardis and former husband LeRoy Price.

Surviving are her children, Lori (Glenn) Bynum, Spring, Texas, Chuck Mardis (Cathy) Mardis, Normal, Illinois, Eric Mardis (Rebecca) Lawrence, Kansas; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Turgeon, Lomita, CA, and Judy Venturato, Lampasas, Texas.

Jean had a contagious smile and was loved by all.   She was an award winning quilter, avid camper and loved weekly country western dancing with her friends.
