Debra “Debbie” Wynne Ellis

Missing our beloved more than words can say

On May 20, 2023, Debbie passed away. We lost a very special niece, cousin, friend and co-worker much too early.

As empty as our world seems without Debbie’s physical presence, it is a comfort to know her physical suffering is now over.  Someone wrote, “Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us.  They live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they brought into our lives.”  This is Debbie’s legacy.  Her love of family and friends, her kindness to all, her sense of humor, her dependability, her generosity, her laugh, her quiet strength and love for dogs will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Debbie.

Debra W. Ellis, 68, daughter of John K. Ellis and June Fulton Ellis, passed away on May 20, 2023, in Overland Park, Kansas.  She was born on June 29, 1954, in Kansas City, MO.  She was preceded in death by her parents John and June.

Debbie graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 1972.  After graduating from Emporia College in 1976 she entered the workforce.  She had an extraordinary, diversified career where she flourished and made lifelong friends.  She enjoyed a career in Human Resources, where she traveled the country to present and assist in implementing new company policies, followed by a career in real-estate and ended her career working for the Better Business Bureau.  Debbie’s life was always centered around giving of herself for the benefit of others.

Private services and celebration of life will be held at a future date.

Those we love don’t go away,

They walk beside us every day,

Unseen, unheard, but always near,

Still loved, still missed and very dear.
