Drake D Dickerson, 68, passed away on June 21, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri following a long illness.

He was born in Aurora, Illinois, to Homer and Nancy Dickerson on March 13, 1955.

Drake was a railroader, having worked for several decades on tracks all over the western half of the United States. In his travels, he developed an eye for photography and took many interesting pictures of landscapes, sunsets, railroad features and cities that he experienced along the way.

Family meant the world to Drake as he enjoyed holiday gatherings and attending ballgames and shows whenever he could. Drake is survived by his six brothers: Ted (Billie Jo) of San Antonio TX, Gary (Becky) of Overland Park KS, Bruce (Barbara)of Kansas City MO, Mark of Bremerton WA, Bennett (Karrie) of Oswego IL, and Jack (Hong Mei) of Sturtevant WI. He leaves a loving extended family of many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He was a devout churchgoer and maintained many friendships with members of the congregations at Colonial Presbyterian of Kansas City and First Presbyterian Church of Aurora, Illinois.

Services will be held on July 12 at 10:00 am at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Road, Kansas City MO.

A graveside service will be conducted at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gallatin, MO later on July 12 at 3 pm.
