Jan Hammerschmidt, 82, passed away on October 4, 2023 in Baldwin City, Ks at the Baldwin City Healthcare and Rehab Center.
She was born in Garnett, Kansas to Ernest & Lois Lutz on December 24, 1940.
Jan worked with her husband, Leon, operating Hammerschmidt Pools. She later worked for Saffee’s clothing store in Lawrence.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon; her parents, and three brothers Dale, Darrel and Charles.
Jan is survived by three step-children : Lisa Gaston(Doug), Lori Durrant (Kevin) and Lyle Hammerschmidt, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
As per Jan’s wishes, a formal service will not be held.
