Joseph “John” Bayless, age 81, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed into eternity on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at St. Lukes Hospital following a hard-fought battle with Parkinsons Disease. His fragile systems could not stave off the covid virus which he contracted.

John was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. Following high school, he joined the Air Force where he spent almost 8 years performing a job he couldn’t tell you about – unless he killed you afterwards.

After the military, John lived his life in a whirlwind being self-employed, always trying to sell something to someone.

A long time member of the Church of The Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, John volunteered every week in Congregational Care and was a greeter in the sanctuary on Sundays. His goal was to make every first-time visitor want to return the next Sunday.

John loved everything Texas, so per his request, his ashes will be taken to Texas.
