Janet Louise Hawkins, 76, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023, in Overland Park, KS

She was born February 4, 1947, in Quincy, IL to Albert and Virginia Davis and Leon and Gilberta Bailey. Janet married her high school sweetheart, Jackie C. Hawkins, on June 7, 1965.

She was a nurse by profession until she retired. She loved doing her puzzles on her tablet, watching medical dramas and Hallmark Christmas movies.

Janet loved and protected her family fiercely; they were her joy. She is survived by two daughters, Carla Hawkins-Scott and Jacqueline Hawkins-Miles and two sons, Jack Hawkins and Alexander Hawkins. 13 Grandchildren: Chauntoya (Burnside) Brown, Tyrissa Burnside, Tashyra Burnside, Gregory Burnside, Craishae (Johnson) Sarol, Jacquille Hawkins, Jacquinn Hawkins, Cartez Williams, J’La Hawkins, Devonte Hawkins, Darnell Hawkins, Isaiah Hawkins, Elijah Hawkins. 16 Great Grandchildren: Albert, Amias, Aleigha, Saia, Kaila, Tavours, Kaimir, Tanaia, Princess, Passion, Promise, Cartez, Talon, Olivia, C’Angelo and Amryn. She is also survived by 12 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie; eldest daughter, Stephanie Lynn Burnside; parents, Leon Bailey and Virginia Davis; and siblings, Sharon Payne and Albert Davis.

As per Janet’s wishes, a formal service will not be held.
