Evelyn Kae Shields (Young), Evie, 58, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on September 10th, 2024.

Evelyn was born on January 8th, 1966 to Glen and Evelyn (Wyble) Young in Kansas City, KS. After Evelyn graduated from JC Harmon High School in 1984, she went on to work at various jobs, but was primarily a wife and homemaker.

In 1984, Evelyn married Jonathan Paul Bjorgaard. Evelyn and Jon went on to have two daughters, Crystal and Casi, before his untimely death in 1998.

In 1999, Evelyn married Keith A. Shields. Evelyn and Keith went on to have one son, Keith Jr.. Through this union, Evelyn also gained three step-children, Vicki, Gary, and Kevin.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Evelyn Young; first husband, Jonathan; brothers, Glen, Paul, Tom, and Sam; and step-son Kevin; as well as many other relatives and loved ones. She is survived by husband Keith Shields of the home; Daughters Crystal (Brant) Sizemore of Buffalo, KS and Casi Bjorgaard of Parkville, MO; Son Keith Shields Jr. (Jenna) of Linn, MO; step-daughter Vicki (Rick) Buckley of Independence, MO; step-son Gary Shields; and 4 grandchildren - Skyler Buckley, and Riley, Remington, and Everlee Sizemore. Evelyn is also survived by three siblings - Bonnie Swank of Burlington, KS, Christina Gibbs (Edward) of Kansas City, KS, and Dave Young (Amy), of Gardner, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Evie had a great love for her furry family as well. She was preceded in death by beloved dogs, Skippy, Waffles, Pierre, and Lucas. She is survived by dog Colton of the home. She is also survived by her grand kitties - Oso, Bea, and Salvy of Parkville, MO.

Memorial Service will be held at Longview Lake, Shelter #3 in Lee’s Summit, MO on September 21st at 1:00pm. The family wishes that memories of Evelyn be shared at the event. Light refreshments will be provided.
