Peggy June Gorden, Age: 73

After a long battle with cancer she passed away on September 11th, 2024, surrounded by her husband and her four children.

 

Born on January 6th, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert and Ilene Wagner. She graduated from Truman High School in 1969. 

 

Peggy dedicated her life to her husband and her four children. She would consider her marriage, children, and family her life’s greatest success. She was an avid reader with an insatiable curiosity. She was dedicated to expanding her knowledge in a broad range of topics. Her love of knowledge established that she was well informed and engaged in all areas of her interests. She loved everyone with deep and fierce passion, this left a warm and lasting impression on everyone she met. Her ability to make others feel cherished and valued guaranteed that she was deeply loved in return. 

 

She is survived by her husband Les Gorden, and four children: Charlotte (Mike) Isbell, Steve (Lindsay) Gorden, Lesley (Russell) Scheer, Jeff (Sheryl) Gorden. Her ten grandchildren: Elliott, Abbie, Jack, Jonathan, and Jameson Scheer; Patrick and Gretchen Isbell; Kate, Emma, and Ryan Gorden. Brother: Bob (Pat) Wagner and Sister: Patty (Milton) Hatt.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ilene Wagner along with her brother Mike Wagner.

 

The celebration of life will be held on September 21st at 6:00 pm at the Butler Memorial Airport (KBUM), Orange St, Butler, MO 64730.

My condolences to the entire Gorden Family. Peggy was such a positive light upon all that knew here. I will miss her and my heartfelt life discussions. My greatest hope for Peggy is that she is fulfilled and her heart filled with joy as her Family thrives and excels all because of her leadership and love! RIP Mrs. Gorden, I will miss you!

We are so sorry for your loss Gordon family. Peggy was a beautiful person inside and out. We were blessed to have had the opportunity to spend time with her through our aviation adventures. Her kind smile and easy going nature will be missed by all. Heaven has gained a very special angel.
