On September 11, 2024, the world lost a bit of its brilliance when Glenda Louise James left to rejoin her sisters.
Glenda was born in Lenexa, KS, to Glen Weaver and Flo Mustain on October 22, 1941. She was a proud member of the Olathe Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and Dirty Dozen Club. Glenda led a long, successful sales career, one which helped her travel the world and from which she begrudgingly retired. Glenda is best known for the community she built back home. She was equally skilled in throwing sprawling parties as she was in holding quiet conversations over popcorn and wine. Glenda cared deeply about the people around her, and she is remembered for her kindness, striking smile, and sly humor.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Pat Roberts, Sharon Crownover, and Gayle Morales.
Glenda remains loved by her children, Shane (Dolores) Hendrix of Holt, MO, and Shannon (Dave) Hendrix of Linwood, KS; long-time partner, Buck Tanner of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Aubrey (Chris) Davis of Olathe, KS, Eric Virgin of Linwood, KS, Joe (Katie) Hendrix of Kansas City, MO, and Nicole (Warren) Lickson of Decatur, GA; great-grandchildren, Harper, Hadlee, Ava, Duke, Nora, and Gracie; and her extended family. We miss you very much, Glenda.

Glenda was an absolutely lovely person. She was warm, kind, charmingly shy. She was incredibly kind to me and my daughter. I will continue to pray for her. As I think of her, i have a giant smile and such feelings of affection! A wonderful woman. I’ll miss her.
