In Loving Memory of Linda Kay (Pitsenbarger) Romsland
April 9, 1943 - October 20, 2024
Linda Kay (Pitsenbarger) Romsland, 81, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024, with her husband and sons by her side.
She was born on April 9, 1943, to parents Lyle and Joyce Pitsenbarger in Fargo, North Dakota. A graduate of Moorhead High School, she went on to attend beautician school. On June 9, 1967, Linda married the love of her life, Richard Romsland. Together, they raised two children: Christopher (Rebecca) and Ryan. In December of 1969, the family relocated to Kansas City after Richard was offered a position with AT&T. Later in her working life, Linda was a valued asset to her Dillard’s community for ten years before retiring.
Linda was the loving grandma to her six grandchildren: Lilly (Colin Devick), Sophie, Ava, Emery, Aiden, and Maddox; and proud Gigi to her two great-grandchildren: Colton and Wren. Linda is survived by her sister Gail Taasaas and nephews Steven (Rebecka) and David (Robin). She is preceded in death by her parents, Joyce and Lyle.
One thing about Linda is that you would never see her without her hair and makeup done, whether she was leaving the house or not. She took pride in making herself and others feel beautiful on the inside and out. Linda loved keeping her nails long and perfectly painted at all times.
Known for her feisty, tenacious yet caring personality, Linda touched the lives of those around her with her vibrant spirit and generous heart. She cherished her time shopping, traveling to new destinations, reading a wide array of literature, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family and friends. These activities brought great joy to Linda and those fortunate enough to join her.
There will be a private family service held in the coming days to celebrate Linda's life and legacy. Her memory will continue to be honored by family and friends through the sharing of stories and memories of the times they cherished together. It should bring peace to everyone who loves Linda that she is watching over us all—smiling and drinking her signature Coke.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Saint Luke’s Hospice House, which helped bring comfort to Linda and her family in her final days.
