Lloyd Edward Williams, 83, died Sunday, October 27th, 2024, at Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas, following a long battle with his health.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Susan Jane (Landis) Williams; his brother, Kendall Bradley Williams; his daughters, Brooke Nicole Mansell and Mindy Blair Nichols; his granddaughters, Kayla Nicole Traxel, Abigail Mae Traxel, Chloe Blair Nichols; his grandsons, Bryce McAdam Nichols and Drew Addison Nichols. He is preceded in death by his mom, Genevieve Anna (McAdam) Williams; and his dad Lloyd Ransome Williams.
Lloyd was born July 30th, 1941, and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He is the son of Lloyd and Genevieve (McAdam) Williams. He graduated from Paseo High School in 1959. After High school, he attended Baker University where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and was an all-star center in the Kansas Conference for Baker football. While attending Baker University he met the love of his life Susan. He graduated from Baker University in 1964.
He was in the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina, and later became a reserve. He married Susan on February 6th, 1966, in Kansas City, Missouri. They picked everything up and moved to Arlington Heights, Illinois. In their years of living in Illinois, they welcomed two beautiful children. Brooke Nicole, in 1969, and Mindy Blair in 1972.
During his work years, Lloyd was a transportation broker and was president of Precision Transportation. Which led to their move back to Kansas. They bought their infamous house on Floyd Street in Overland Park, Kansas, where Lloyd became known as Lloyd on Floyd.
Lloyd spent his remaining years in that house in Overland Park where he brought smiles to every person he came in contact with. Lloyd was the type of person to crack a joke to anyone, anytime, whether or not the joke was actually funny it brought the whole room to laughter due to his huge belly laugh. One of his true passions was playing duplicate bridge with his friends. This brought him so much joy. His kind heart and his endless quest for betterment will transfer to all he has inspired in his lifetime. Lloyd Williams will have an ever-lasting legacy on Floyd.
A Celebration of Life for Lloyd will be held at a later date, details will be announced.
