Carol Ann Green Glass March 11, 1949 – December 6, 2024

On Friday, December 6, 2024, our beautiful and loving mother, Carol Ann Green Glass, 75, of Weston, Missouri, passed away peacefully. Carol was born on March 11, 1949, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Howard William and Nellie Jane Stout Green.

As a young girl, Carol developed a love for dance, a passion that stayed with her throughout her life. A cousin fondly recalls how Carol was always dancing around, full of joy. She grew up in the country between St. Joseph and DeKalb, Missouri, and attended school in DeKalb, where she met her best friend for life, Joyce Parrott Kincaid.

During high school, Carol met the love of her life, Roger Burton Glass, from Weston. On June 22, 1966, they were married, with Joyce standing by her side as maid of honor. Over the next few years, they welcomed three daughters into the world: Kimberly Rena, Kelly Ann, and Karla Kay. Carol dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom, and also helped care for other children in the community.

Once her daughters were in school, Carol worked at Peachtree Doors in St. Joseph for a time. Later, she worked alongside her beloved mother-in-law, Ollie Glass, at McCormick Distillery, where she became a respected member of the team.

In 1995, Carol was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Despite the challenges, she continued to work until her health required her to take disability. In 2015, Carol suffered a stroke and eventually moved into a nursing home for care.

Several years later, Carol was diagnosed with colon cancer, and after a brave battle, she passed away on December 6, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her infant twin brothers, her granddaughter Alyssa Kay Guy, and her great-grandson Kaiden Green. She is survived by the love of her life, Roger Burton Glass; daughters Kimberly and Jim Murphy, Kelly and Kenny Young, and Karla and Gary Guy; and her cherished grandchildren Matthew Ryan Sydow, Courtney Marie Young, Dustin Burton Guy, and Bailey Nicole Young. She is also survived by her beloved great-grandchildren: Kinsleigh and Maverick (children of Alyssa), Oaklyn and Hunter (children of Dustin), Avonna and Ka'Nylah (children of Courtney), and Jared and Ruby (children of Matthew). Sister-in-law Melanie and husband Bill Burnett and nieces Ashley and Lindsay.

Carol will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strength in the face of adversity, and her joyful spirit that lit up every room. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
