Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to an amazing man- a husband, father, papa, and friend who meant the world to us all. It is never easy to part with those we hold dear, to leave behind the familiar faces, the shared moments, and the bonds that have woven us together. This farewell marks the end of a chapter filled with memories, laughter, and love.
Randy Craig Pitts of Lee’s Summit Missouri died on December 13, 2024 at home. He was 73.
Randy was born on April 13, 1951, in Ulysses Kansas, the son of Forest J Pitts and Bonnie Pitts. He married Kathy Oldham Pitts on Aug 17, 1971, in Ulysees.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Pitts of Lee’s Summit; daughters Jill Hanley Hunt( Steve Hunt) of Lenexa; Julie Shultz (Jim Shultz) of Lee’s Summit grandchildren Carson Hanley, Avery Andrade, Brian Hunt (Halle Hunt) , Abby Hunt, Ethan Hunt, Sara Pernice (Mike Pernice). Brother Larry Pitts (Judy) Blue Springs Missouri, brother Alan Pitts (Kathy) Newton Kansas, and sister, Shaun Buchanan (Dan) Newton Kansas.
He is proceeded in death by his parents and infant brother Richard Pitts.
Randy graduated from Grant County High School 1969. Graduated from Garden City Community College, and went on to attend Emporia State University.
Randy was a CNC programmer, planner, and tool designer at multiple manufacturing companies throughout his career.
Randy loved spending time with family and friends, was an avid boater and enjoyed fishing, lifelong Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawk fan, one of the greatest joys was watching his grandchildren do the things they loved.
Cremation is planned with a graveside Memorial Service at 10:30am December 27,2024 at the Ulysses Kansas Cemetery.
