Tanya Renae Tiethoff

Tanya Renae Tiethoff, 50, of Olathe, KS, passed away on December 15, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospice House due to health complications.

 

Tanya was born at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam, KS, on April 24, 1974, to Kenneth and Betty (Gates) Peterson. As a child, she lived with her family in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Cayman Islands while her parents served as missionaries. Tanya graduated from Mt. Zion Bible School in Ava, MO, and went on to attend Hobe Sound Bible College for a couple of years. She later returned to Missouri, where she earned her RN degree from Columbia College in Jefferson City, MO. Tanya worked as a nurse for many years in various hospitals, home healthcare, and eventually as a hospice nurse until her health no longer allowed her to continue. She was a loving, compassionate nurse who took great pride in making a difference in the lives of others.

 

 

Tanya was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Marie Peterson and Violet Marie Gates. She is survived by her partner of 10 years, Makeba Green; her three children, Allen Tiethoff (ChiChi) of Okinawa, Japan, David Tiethoff (Lauren) of O’ahu, Hawaii, and JoAnna Tiethoff (Tristan) of Overland Park, KS; her parents, Kenneth and Betty Peterson of Ft. Scott, KS; her sister, Denise (Matt) of Fulton, MO; her brother, Wesley (Misty) of Hobe Sound, FL; her 101-year-old grandfather, Kenneth Lee Peterson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. Tanya's greatest joy in life was her three children, whom she loved dearly and was incredibly proud of, especially her two sons who are both serving in the United States Marine Corps.

 

 

In accordance with Tanya's wishes, there will be no service.
