Ila "Fay" Jones, Age: 100

Ila Fay (Kintner) Jones passed away on December 18, 2024 at the age of 100 years and 5 months.

Born on July 21, 1924 to Walter and Lena Kintner in Pioneer Ohio, Fay was the only girl of their three children. Her mother (also living to the age of 100) being widowed 3 times meant that Fay also had an extended family. Half-brother Russel Throne, Brothers Dale and Paul Kintner and Stepbrother Carl Preston.

In February of 1942, shortly after the start of WWII, Fay married Ralph Jones of Wauseon, Ohio, moving to Colorado Springs, Colorado where Ralph was stations before going to the Pacific Theater. Fay returned to Ohio for the duration of the War. After the War they settled in the Wauseon Ohio area, raising their family and farming, until moving to southern Indian in 1960. They had five children: James, Fred, John, Kathy (Smith) and Louis. Ralph passed away in 2006. They were married for 64 years.

In her senior years they moved to Florida where Fay enjoyed traveling, painting and needlepointing, before moving to Liberty, Missouri to be closer to family. Much of her artwork remains in the homes of her family.

Fay was the last of her generational family with all her siblings and their spouses proceeding her in passing. She was also proceeded in death by her son Fred Jones and son in-law Mike Smith.

Fay is survived by sons James Jones and John Jones, daughter Kathy Smith and son Louis Jones, 9 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and numerous Nephews, Nieces and their families.
