Jeremy Todd Myers, Age: 40
Aug 06, 1964 - Feb 07, 2025

Throughout his 40 years, Jeremy Todd Myers was lovingly called J, JT, and Simon when he wore his glasses. No matter the nickname, Jeremy was always the glue of his family. He was the only sibling free of sibling rivalries. He was the one everyone liked all the time. He brought the lightness a family of six needs to get through tantrums and arguments.

Jeremy was four months old when he was adopted by the Myers. His new siblings, Sean, Renee, and Julie, all wanted to name their brother. Renee won and JT became the youngest member of the Myers family.

Jeremy was born with a disability. He was as infamous for running his wheelchair into a wall or two as he was for his big grin, sense of humor, and love for the people in his life.

Jeremy graduated from Oak Park High School, where he made lifelong friends. He was a happy son. He was a super fun brother, nephew, and uncle.

Jeremy holds the distinction of being the only Myers kid who liked summer camp. He went on adventures with his siblings that his parents are still finding out about today.

J liked so many things. The Chiefs, Royals, every single holiday, playing with his giant train set and gardening in the bed his dad built for him, all-day video game action with his friend Sara, his beer fridge, Flaming Dr. Pepper shots, and yelling, especially people’s names: “PAT!” “DAVE!” and any other name of someone he wanted to joke with.

Jeremy was an artist. He attended art classes at Imagine That. He was an expert at making simple things, like a house, draw you in so you’d see a roof or a window in ways you may never have thought about.

J passed away knowing he could make a room of people crack up, paint things people wanted to hang on their wall, and have a drink in his man cave. He knew that life was fun and that he was cared for and loved by his friends, family, and pretty much anyone who met him.

Friends can visit with the Myers family to honor J on Tuesday, February 11 at 10 AM at Hope Church in Kansas City.
