Cynthia Dawn Rice passed away February 26, 2025, at age 63.
She was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on May 22, 1961. She was a graduate of North Texas State University in Denton, Texas.
Cynthia worked in the technology industry at EDS, Perot Systems and finished her career with Southwest Airlines as a Disaster Recovery Analyst. She was very passionate about Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity. She became certified as a Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP). She held a very special spot in her heart for all her family and friends. She was warm, friendly and had a humorous and outgoing personality. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Most recently, she and her 5-pound chihuahua, Bella, moved to Kansas City to be near her sister. Cynthia touched many, many lives through her good works and zest for life. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Kenemore, Jr, and her parents James and Marion Rice.
She is survived by her brother and sister, James Matthew “Matt” Rice and Lisa McFarlin (Gregg); her nephews, Derek and Andrew McFarlin; her aunts Kathleen Burrows (Tom) and Eleanor Taylor; many other family members; her oldest and dearest friends, Kay Gafford, Sunny Harrison and Linda Ann Walton; and James Hall, who was like a son to her.
An interment of ashes ceremony will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Farmers Branch, Texas for a small gathering of family and friends.
