Joyce Laverne Cook, 78, of Payneway, Arkansas deported this life on March 5^th 2025, at her daughter’s home in Osawatomie, Kansas.

Joyce was born February 13, 1947, in Lake City, AR to William L. Woods and Alta Dirck. Joyce was one of ten children of this marriage. Joyce married Carl Henry Cook on October 6^th 1962, and was married for 60 years, until his Carl’s death in 2022.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents; 3 brothers, Donald, David and Johnnie Woods; 5 sisters, Bonnie Sue Bentley, Janette Clayton, Glenda Collett, Mildred Shiflett, Sharon Kay Woods; and 1 grandchild, Benjamin Cole.

Joyce is survived by her 5 children, Patsy Cole of Osawatomie, Billy J. Cook of Payneway, AR, Tammy Markin of Harrisburg, AR, Jimmy Cook of Payneway, AR, Carl Matthew Cook of Payneway, AR; sister, Peggy Crawford of Wardell, MO; 8 grandchildren, Fred A. Cole, Candice Kern, and Benjamin Cole of Kansas, Jerry Markin, Kimberly Gibson, Brandy Cook, Brittany Cook, and Gavin Cook of Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Kylle Cole, Kimberlee Cole, and Riley Kern of Kansas, Aiden and Jada Markin of Arkansas; great-great grandchild, Zane Michael Cole of Kansas.

Joyce and her husband Carl, will return back to Arkansas, where together thier ashes will be spread, per their wishes.
