Edwin Lee Jones was born on September 25, 1941 to William Leslie Jones and Evelyn Darlene Kuder.  He grew up in Raytown, MO and graduated in 1959 from Raytown High School.  After graduation Ed joined the Army where he spent 2 ½ years of his duty in Anchorage, Alaska.  

After the Army, Ed came back to the Kansas City Area where he worked at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit. He would eventually meet the love of his life Elizabeth (Liz) Selvy.  They married on October 3, 1964 and moved to Lee’s Summit in 1966 where they resided for the remainder of his life.

Ed worked at Kansas City Power and Light for 39 years where he began working at the plant and worked his way up to dispatcher.

Ed and Liz had 2 girls Tammy Crosby (Jon) and Stacie Newell (Frank).  They were members of the United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit for 53 years.

Ed loved watching his grandkids in their many activities. He would often brag about Brent, Madison, Peyton and Bradyn to anyone who would listen.

Ed passed away on March 7, 2025. A Celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 16 at 1:00pm at the Raintree Duck Pond Activity Center 111 SW Cole Younger Dr. Lee’s Summit, MO
