With a heart as welcoming as the hummingbirds she loved to watch, Sherry Rae Lovejoy, age 69, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1955, in Minot, North Dakota, the third of four children.

Sherry found her deepest peace beside the ocean; the beach, with its rolling waves and endless horizon, was her sanctuary. She cherished family beach vacations with Shauna and Bart and their children—days of laughter, sandy picnics, and seashell hunts—and equally treasured the everyday moments shared with Ryan, Kirsten, and their little ones, from backyard adventures to bedtime stories.

She poured her devotion into raising her two children—Shauna and Ryan—and embraced their spouses, Bart and Kirsten, with the same open heart. She treasured her role as G'Ma above all else. Whether sharing gentle wisdom with Maya and Mariyah, marveling at Elijah’s curiosity, encouraging Forrest’s imaginative building projects, or cradling baby Hope with lullabies, Sherry poured boundless love into each grandchild. Their milestones—big or small—were met with warm hugs and proud applause.

Her quiet strength shone brightest as she met cancer again and again with determination and grace.

Sherry is survived by her mother, Eldora; her siblings, Richie, Kenny, and Sandy; her children, Shauna Lopez (Bart) and Ryan Sullivan (Kirsten); and five beloved grandchildren—Maya, Mariyah, Elijah, Forrest, and Hope.
