Mary Louise Pulley, 86, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on her birthday, June 26, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born near King City, Missouri, to Emery and Grace Evans, Mary was one of fifteen children—a background that shaped her joyful spirit, deep faith, and boundless capacity for love. She built a life full of laughter, purpose, and connection.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Bryson Pulley, and her cherished son, Bryson James Pulley. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Harris (Gordon) and Abby Volmer (Lynn); her grandchildren Kelly Hardin, Eric Broski, Carri Evans, Caleb Volmer, Lee Volmer, Andrew Volmer, Skylar Langley, Kaylee Langley, and Colton Langley; and her eleven great-grandchildren: Alaina, Tessa, Kyla, McKenna, Isaiah, Cash, Crowen, Hollan, Loxley, Noah, and Eliza.

Mary worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant for Jackson County Parks and Recreation, where she formed a lifelong friendship with her boss, Michelle Newman. But her true life’s work was found in the way she cared for others—whether through her volunteer efforts, her rich family relationships, or her ever-ready smile and warm laugh.

She found joy in the simple and meaningful: reading, singing, yodeling, and spending time with her family, whom she adored and told so often. Her joy was infectious, and her love was deep and sincere.

Mary was an active volunteer for Church of the Resurrection Blue Springs (formerly North Spring United Methodist), Hillcrest Transitional Housing, and Hospice. Her faith guided her, and her kindness made others feel seen and cherished.

Those who knew Mary will remember her laugh, her radiant smile, and her joyful presence. She gave generously of her time, her heart, and her words—never missing a chance to say “I love you.”

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of Mary’s life at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Blue Springs, located at 601 NE Jefferson St., Blue Springs, MO 64014.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Mary’s memory to Hillcrest Transitional Housing, an organization close to her heart.
