John E. McAtee, age 78, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born and raised in Northeast Kansas City, where he formed lifelong friendships and built the foundation of a life filled with love, laughter, and hard work. He dedicated 43 years of his career to Sachs Electric Company, where he was a trusted colleague, mentor, and friend to many.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and James McAtee, and his brother, Gary McAtee. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Phyllis K. McAtee; his children, Michelle Jay (Daryl), Ryan McAtee, and Danielle York; and his stepchildren, James Anders, Tim Anders, and Holly Chapman. He was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy.

John will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and sense of humor. He cherished time spent with family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
