Wanita Mae Burke, age 83, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in the care of family in Bucyrus, KS. She was born December 14, 1941, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Wilbur and Alveda Thompson.

Wanita loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed gathering with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Terry L. Burke.

She is survived by her daughters Geri (Richard) Anderson, Kristy (Kenny) Cannon, Kelly Burke and Sandy (Scott) Lust, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, siblings Willa Piercy, Wanda Thompson, Warren Thompson, nieces and nephews and dear friends the Farnham family.

As per Wanita’s wishes, a formal service will not be held.
