John Arthur Muro, 74, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on January 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

 

John was born on October 6, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Alfred and Eleanor Muro. He graduated from Turner High School and dedicated 43 years of his career to Hallmark Cards, Inc. John will be remembered for his deep love of family and his passion for cars, sports, music, and golf. If he wasn’t at home, you could almost always find him at Tiffany Greens enjoying a round of golf.

 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jenni Baxter, and their four children: son David Muro of Shawnee, KS; stepson Matthew Baxter (Shayla) of Bates City, MO; stepdaughters Jessica Boos (Tony) of Grain Valley, MO, and Alicia Baxter (Gina) of Concord, CA; daughter-in-laws Monica Baxter of Concord, CA, and Natacha Nelson of Hermosa Beach, CA; along with 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Rita Muro of Olathe, KS, Becky Hernandez of Kansas City, KS, and brother George Muro of Leavenworth, KS.

 

John was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Eleanor, and his two lifelong friends, Bob Kline and Mike Engelman.

 

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 18, from 2:00–4:00 PM at Tiffany Greens Golf Club.

Guests are encouraged to wear Kansas City Chiefs or KU Jayhawk attire in honor of John’s favorite teams. Food and drinks will be provided.
