Douglas D. Tvedt, Age: 61

Jul 03, 1964 - Mar 22, 2026

Douglas Dale Tvedt  61 of Platte City MO  passed away after an almost 5 year courageous battle with cancer on March 22, 2026.

Born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to Stanley and Barbara Tvedt, Doug grew up in Crystal, Minnesota. He carried the values of his upbringing into every part of his life, living by a steady and purposeful philosophy: "One step at a time." He believed that if you focused on the first step and got it right, the rest would eventually follow. This quiet strength and his legendary dry wit remained with him even as he navigated the challenges of the last few years.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; his father, Stan Tvedt; his sister, Joan (Tom) Burquest ; and his brother, Don. He is also survived by his sons, Jonny and Ryan; and his step-sons, David, Cody, Mike, and Dustin (Alyssa), whom he proudly loved as his own. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who were a constant source of joy in his life.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, Barbara, and his sister, Joyce.

Friends ,New Germany, Mn

In this lifetime you come across people who open their lives and their hearts. Doug and Tammy did just that to us… I only wish we had more times together as we live so far apart . Heaven becomes even sweeter to look forward to for cherished times together again. We send Our Love and Prayers to each of you and your whole family.

Former work colleague ,Elkhart, IN

I hired Doug and the PSR team a little over a year ago with my former company. In a short amount of time, I quickly realized there was something different about him. His organization and attention to detail. His clear communication. His upbeat and positive attitude. His sense of humor. All great qualities that I try to have in my own life. Doug built me up when I lost my job and encouraged me to keep going forward because I had a lot to offer. I spoke with him a few weeks ago when he told me of his diagnosis. I told him I’d pray for him, which I did. Tough to get that phone call yesterday from his business partner. Hit me hard. But I will carry his memory with me for the rest of my life. Rest easy my friend.
