Robert Campbell Lang, age 94, died peacefully March 21, 2026, after a day surrounded by family in Olathe, Kansas. Preceded in death by his father, Frank Lloyd Lang Sr.; mother, Alice Campbell Lang; brothers, Frank Lloyd Lang and J. Thomas Lang; and nephew Frank Lloyd Lang III. Survived by his wife, Beverly Bailey Lang; sons Brian C. Lang (Teri), Bradley R. Lang (Raleigh) and daughter Alison Lang Hickey (Russ); 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and a nephew.
Bob was born May 25, 1931, in Kansas City. He graduated as valedictorian of Paseo High School in 1949, was an Eagle Scout, attended the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated from University of Missouri. He was Lieutenant Commander in the Coast Guard, serving in Mobile, New Orleans and Cleveland. He had a successful career in advertising, in Detroit and later in Kansas City, where he rose to CEO and Chairman of the Board of Valentine-Radford.
An avid snow skier and photographer, Bob enjoyed many years of traveling with Bev, his wife of 71 years. They were active volunteers at the National WWI Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, supported the arts, and enjoyed retirement living at Santa Marta in Olathe, Kansas, where they moved in 2015.
