Donald G. Oman passed away on April 2, 2026, at Overland Park Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don was born December 9, 1948, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Chet and Ruth Oman. After graduating from Wyandotte High School, he attended Kansas State University, where he graduated in 1971 with a B.S. in Business Administration. His career was primarily in transportation, working with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. After a stay in Texas during retirement, Don returned to Overland Park, Kansas, and worked several years in real estate.
Don was a devoted father to his two sons, David and Drew Oman, who still live in the area.
He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection and was involved in several ministries and volunteer efforts. The family would like to thank the many church members for their friendship, support, and care for Don.
Don enjoyed travel, golf, and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed all things relating to K State and spending time pursuing his Swedish heritage.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Oman. Don is survived by his sons, David (Laura) Oman, Drew Oman (Lucia), brother John (Mary) Oman, nieces, nephew and many cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Wesley Chapel, Church of the Resurrection 13720 Roe Avenue Leawood, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Resurrection Foundation.
