Robert “Bob” Leonard Dimond Jr., 68, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on April 13, 2026.
Bob was born on January 15, 1958, in Morristown, New Jersey to Robert Dimond Sr. and Jeanette Dimond. He graduated from Louisiana State University and went on to become an architect by trade, running his own firm for many years. He approached life the same way he approached his work—hands-on and always doing things his own way.
Outside of his career, Bob found his greatest joy in racing and working on cars, often spending hours in the garage doing what he loved most. He also loved watching football, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and the LSU Tigers. More than anything, he was a devoted grandfather who rarely missed a game. Whether it was on the sidelines or in the stands, he showed up for his grandkids, something they will always remember.
He is survived by his daughter, Erin Rudolph, and her husband, Chad Rudolph; his son, Robert Dimond III; and his daughter, Lillie Dimond. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Jameson, Stella, and Samuel Rudolph.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Dimond Sr. and Jeanette Dimond, and his sisters, Carol Kaskie and Eileen Dimond.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held. A casual celebration of life will take place at a later date.
He will be deeply missed by his family.
