Mary Ann Newsom, 94, died April 16, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd A. Newsom.

She is survived by her four children, Marcella Eaton, Lloyd Newsom, Curt Newsom, and Gordon Newsom; two grandsons, Jason Young and Jarred Young; daughter-in-law, Pam Newsom; son-in-law, Randall Eaton; and her longtime friend and caregiver, Penny Sloan.

Mary Ann was born September 1, 1931, in Holyrood, Kansas. She lived for 67 years in Shawnee, Kansas, in the same home where she and her husband, Lloyd, raised their four children. She worked for many years at Russell Stover in Kansas City. She enjoyed raising flowers, maintaining a vegetable garden, and quilting. Mary Ann could never say no to an animal in need and had many pets she loved and cared for over the years.

She was loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Graveside services will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery for immediate family only.
