Daniel Robert "Bob" Alber

Daniel Robert (Bob) Alber passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, surrounded by his family, at the age of 89. Bob was born to Margaret Alber and Daniel Rehm Alber, on November 5, 1936. He lived a full and memorable life in the Kansas City area, where his kind and generous presence impacted countless people. Bob’s sense of humor, intelligence, and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his plentiful accomplishments and accolades, but for the great wisdom and advice he shared with those who were lucky enough to hear it. 

 

Bob served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a highly driven man whose exceptional work ethic began at a young age while working for his father at Kiddieland, where he operated the train. Bob was the owner and president of Alber Electric Company. He was an active member in the Electric League, president of Associated Builders and Contractors, as well as founder of the Associated Builders and Contractors apprenticeship program. His incredibly bright mind and determination led him to continue his career well into his seventies.  

 

Bob married Judith Trendley on May 13, 1967. They have been married almost 59 years. Together they raised two beautiful children and created endless memories. He was known for giving everyone special nicknames and always finding new projects to keep himself, and often his family, busy. He will be remembered for his wild sense of humor that never failed to make his family laugh. 

 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Alber; father, Daniel Alber; brother, Donald Alber; and granddaughter, Ashley Alber. He is survived by his wife, Judith Alber; son, Thomas (Kathy) Alber; daughter, Amy Jenkins; sister, Mary (Larry) Licata; six grandchildren: Alexandra (Brian) Bittner, Jacob (Jordan) Jenkins, Kenna (Mike) Bellari, Luke Jenkins, Emma Alber, and Samantha Alber; great-grandchild, Levi Bittner; and five nieces and nephews. 

 

A celebration of life will be held on May 30 from 2 to 6 pm at the VFW Post 5789, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. The address is 329 SE Douglas St Lee’s Summit, MO 64063 United States. All are welcome.
