We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of William J. Johnston, Jr., after a short illness. Bill passed away in Olathe, Kansas on May 13, 2026.  He was born in Portland, Maine on December 6, 1947, to William J. Johnston, Sr. and Louise Dominicus Johnston.  Bill is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rosie and Donna.  He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pamela; a daughter, Stacy Lee Johnston; two grandsons, Nicholas Dimott and Jason Scott Duarte; two stepsons, Christopher Roby and Justin Roby; three sisters, Margaret, Barbara, and Mary; and two brothers, John and Mark.  Bill was the 1959 Boy of the Year at the Portland, Maine Boys Club.  He was also a Vietnam-era veteran.  He worked for Songo Shoe Manufacturing and also for Shaw's Supermarkets in their warehouse in Wells, Maine.  He was a huge sports fan, loved his many dogs, listened to classic rock, and watched action movies.  He also spent a lot of time on his computer, watching YouTube.  At Bill's request, there will be no service.
