Elizabeth “Becky” Arlene Prost-Hills, 91, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026 at NKCH Hospice House.
Becky was born on a farm in Olivet, Kansas on September 13, 1934. She grew up in Waverly, Kansas, and was proud of her Catholic upbringing. She spent her early life working as a grocery checker at A&P, Safeway, and Red-X. In 1972 she began her employment at TWA in the dining unit and retired as a Stores Clerk. She was one of the first female union stewards with IAM Local 1650 Machinist’s Union. She retired in 1997 to her new home at Lake Perry where she enjoyed fishing and spending time with her beloved dogs and cats.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Tobler and father, Albert Prost, her only sibling, Mary Prost Bond, and her beloved son, Mike Hills.
She is survived by her 3 children; Connie (Don) Cotton, Don Hills, and Shelly (Gabe) Gwartney. Grandchildren; Chris, Michael, Deanna, Kris, Julie, JimBob, Grant, Elliot, Libby, and Ryan. Thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren with one on the way. And her BFF since age 16, Donna “Chickiebutt” Meligi.
Becky will be remembered for her bright smile, kindness, humor, laughter, wisdom and her love of family.
There will be no service. A private burial and celebration of life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, Wayside Waifs, or NKCH Hospice House where the family is especially grateful for the compassionate care of the doctors, nurses, and CNAs in Becky’s last days.
